PAND Settlement Services is a registered charity organization in Ottawa, striving to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate pre-arrival and post-arrival mentorship, settlement, training, and support services and programs to bridge the gap between Immigration and Employment for newcomers to Ottawa and facilitate their successful adaptation and integration processes into their new life and culture in Ottawa.

Our main goal is to bridge the gap between Immigration and Employment by providing culturally and linguistically appropriate pre-arrival and post-arrival mentorship, settlement, training and support services and programs to

1) Bridge the gap between newcomers and society and
2) Facilitate their successful adaptation and integration processes in their new life in Ottawa.

The Pre-Arrival Services are meant to help and prepare those who are about to immigrate to Canada so that they become familiar with potential challenges and learn how prospective immigrants can minimize risks and have a faster, more efficient economic and social integration to their new life in Ottawa.
The Post-Arrival services are tailored to support newcomers with their essential and initial needs upon arrival. These services create a one-stop shop that offers a range of free and confidential services designed to promote positive engagement for smooth community integration, provide information and practical assistance for quick settlement in Ottawa, and help newcomers get prepared to find a suitable job.

Board Of Directors

Kaveh Shakouri

Kaveh is currently the president of the PAND Settlement Services Board of Directors. He joined the Board in May 2018. He has BSc. In Industrial Engineering as well as MBA from University of Exeter and is presently working as a Senior Business Analyst at Innovapost, Kaveh is dedicated to removing barriers for refugees , immigrants, culturally diverse and marginalized groups in society and has a passion for preserving cultural identity as a source of strength. He has also served as a Board member with the Iranian Arts and Cultural Society of Ottawa (PACSO), Little Heroes charity group, Shokoofeh Iranian Children Association of Ottawa (SICAO) and Payam Omid Charity Organization.

Saeid Sedaghat

Saeid is currently the Treasurer of the PAND Settlement Services Board of Directors, he joined the Board of Directors in May 2018. He’s an enthusiastic land surveyor and presently a full time Project Surveyor at the City of Ottawa and part time instructor at Algonquin College. Saeid is a member of Professional Engineers Ontario (P.Eng), Association of Canada and Ontario Land Surveyors. He holds a BSc. In land Surveying as well as MSc. In Urban Planning and Design. Saeid has been an active member in PAND as well as the newcomers community since 2016, and has a unique understanding of some of the challenges faced by immigrants in our community.

Mehrshad Golesorkhi

Mehrshad is currently the Secretary of the PAND SETTLEMENT SERVICES Board of Directors. He joined the PAND SETTLEMENT SERVICES Board of Directors in May 2018. He has PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Ottawa and is a Senior Data scientist at Morningstar. Mehrshad has worked with newcomers to Ottawa in different capacities including providing mentorship and welcome services to international students at the University of Ottawa and has been coordinated educational and informational workshops and seminars throughout the year. He is passionate about helping new immigrants adjust to their new life the way other people helped him adjust when he first arrived in Ottawa.

Omid Jafari

Omid is currently the General Manager of the PAND Settlement Services Board of Directors, he joined the Board of Directors in May 2018. He holds an MBA from GSM Business School as well as Master of Systems from University of Ottawa Omid is currently working as Business Consultant at Telus and is passionately help newcomers overcome their impediments during the first months of their arrival in Ottawa.

PAND is a non-profit settlement service organization in Ottawa. Our main objective is to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate settlement, training and support services and programs to address the employment needs of immigrants, refugees and newcomers to Ottawa as well as the needs of the local labour market experiencing long/short term unemployment.

Our mandate at PAND is to establish a training center to create a central welcoming and operation location for all community activities; connecting clients to public institutions; volunteering opportunities, cross cultural activities; networking; job searching workshops, settlement mentorship as well as training, counselling and educational activities to help newcomers to advance education and community engagement and also provide self-serve facilities and equipment for information and orientation, employment resources & materials, access to computers, photocopying, and phones, job search workshops and supports to empower newcomers and help them integrate into the job market.
